It began late last week after Congressional Republicans called White House officials to register alarm about what they saw as a feeble response by Mr. Bush to the hurricane, according to Republican Congressional aides.

Now, this crisis is going not going away at the end of this news cycle.  Katrina has left a devastation in it's path that will take months to rebuild.  Officials are now saying it could take 3 months to dry out.  We have hundreds of thousands of American refugees that need our help.  Okay, so let's organize.  

We need to send food, water, clothing, anything to help ease the pain these victims are going to endure.  Send your thoughts on this.  I am going to try to find information on who/where we can send materials.  Also, I believe there is a system setup to try and get companies to match donations.  See if businesses you are involved with will do that with either cash or supplies.
